The US Maritime Administration said that pirate attacks are likely to increase in the waters off the Horn of Africa and in the Indian Ocean over the next two months.
MARAD said in an advisory this week that pirate activity could increase between now and May due to the end of the monsoon season in that region.
And as pirate activity has fanned out further into the Indian Ocean, some cruise lines are avoiding the area altogether.
